May and June have been very busy in the education department!

We have attended:

•  Trade shows
•  Traveled to Miami for the Aquage Master Academy
•  Hosted several IN SALON hands on classes with guest artists

This is what we learned:

• Dry haircutting is the hottest new trend for long layered hair. The result is lots of movement and avoids that "just cut" look.
• Sleek side parts for 40 & over. Center parts with a 70s feel for the younger ones.
• Dirty blonde and platinum blonde are being replaced with softer more natural color.
• Red trends are leaning toward Auburn tones as opposed to cool reds.
• Variations of Bobs are still hot for this season. In fact, Bobs are like jeans. They never really go out of style, they just change a little.

Men are having more fun these days going blond! Short-Medium lengths are both acceptable for the guys. Stay away from long hair for now, unless you're curly, that's hot! Hard gel seems to be making a come back for younger guys.. 40 somethings can stick with the paste and wax.

October 12, 2008 Vanity Avenue Salon will be participating in a charity for Rainbow Babies and Children/ University Hospital hosted by Circle of Friends. This event will be a fashion show held at Embassy Suites in Independence.
